Vickie Barts, RN, BSN, CLTC

Vickie graduated from the University of Greensboro in 1981 and began her career in nursing. For more than 20 years she cared for patients in the hospital and/or in their homes. Wherever she worked, she always seemed to be the person to go to if there were any problems or issues with insurance. She just seemed to have a knack for determining what was needed and getting the correct information to the insurance company so the issue could be resolved.

Vickie has also worked as a case manager for a large insurance company and for private case management companies gaining extensive knowledge of how different insurance products work, and more importantly, how different insurance plans can benefit YOU. She has focused exclusively on the needs of seniors and long term care planning for the last 4 years. While actively practicing nursing Vickie was a Certified Gerontological Nurse (Care of Older Adults). Currently, as a specialist in long term care insurance, she holds the most highly regarded designation in the insurance industry, CLTC certification (Certified in Long Term Care).

She has seen first hand the financial and day-to-day hardships faced by families unprepared for long term care. She has seen the resentment and damaged relationships when one family member feels the care giving responsibilities are not shared equally. Even families with considerable resources have had to make changes in their retirement plans and frequently invade principal due to ongoing care needs. While it may be true that we may never need this type of care, the consequences to the family can be so catastrophic, we need to have a plan in place.

It doesn’t cost you any more to work with a Long Term Care Specialist. (Premium rates are set by the insurance companies and approved by the state department of insurance.) None of us can change the rates, but Vickie promises to help you find a policy that best suits your situation and preferences. There will be no sales pressure. Either we find something that works for you or we don't. Either way, you will receive the service of finding out what plans are available to you and at what cost.
